For my fourth community practice:
I work at the Quality Inn hotel in East Haven CT. All of my housekeepers are Spanish. In order to get work done, we have to communicate with one another. On March 14, 2015 at work, I told one of the housekeepers, veronica to communicate with me in Spanish for the rest of the day. It was helpful when she used nonverbal suggestions. For example, she asked me for the key in Spanish. She used her hand to gesture "opening the door with a key." This made it easier for me to understand what she was talking about. I tried my best to communicate back to her in Spanish. Throughout the day she taught me words in Spanish and I taught her some words in english. This was very exciting for us both. I want to continue to do this with her when I am work. This is a good way to learn Spanish.
