Community Practice #6

My sixth community practice was something that I had completed earlier on in the course. As extra credit a few students, such as myself, were asked to bring in a video that could give the other students of the class insight into the history of the Dominican Republic. The video I chose was informational in just a short time because it was as if it was live footage of students and people of the country and their lifestyle. The most important message that students could take away from my video was the importance of music to the native people of the Dominican no matter their age. It also gave a condensed explanation to how the DR was colonized and the struggles the people were forced to endure during the time period. Although the video was just a brief history of the Dominican Republic, it was simple enough to understand and it was the beginning to a basic appreciation I was able to attain for a native spanish speaking country.
